Eagle Volleyball off to 3-0 start

Volleyball celebrates 3-0 win over Central Carolina.

RALEIGH, NC – Wake Tech defeated Central Carolina Community College 3-0 on Thursday evening to improve to 3-0 on the season.

The Eagles won the first set 25-18.   However, in the second set the Cougars jumped out to early lead with Wake Tech clawing back to take a tight 25-22 victory. The third set was 25-16.

For Wake Tech, middle hitter Arianna King had eight kills and hit .333. Ahunna Akpuda recorded seven kills, hitting .417, and had two blocks. Setter Ja'keya Paylor was the ace leader with with a game-high five.

The Cougars were paced by Pogisa Thompson with nine kills and Pristina Tabon had four aces.

The Eagles are back in action on Tuesday at Sandhills Community College.  Game time is 6pm.
