RALEIGH, NC - Wake technical Community College celebrated Sophomore Day with a convincing 3-0 victory over USC Union Saturday morning.

The Eagles took the first set 25-5 over the Bantams. Wake Tech went on to win the second set 25-16 and the final set 25-12.

Arianna King recorded 12 kills and two solo blocks lead the Eagles. Cassidy Hinnant and Ahunna Akpuda each had seven kills.

Jaide Holliday had four service aces with Akpuda collected three. 

Eliza Thoto, Kara Ayscue, Maya Uzoho, Meagan Smith, Hinnant, and Akpuda were all recognized as sophomores preceding the game.

The Eagles travel to Surry Community College on Tuesday, Oct. 26, in NJCAA Region 10 D2 quarterfinal action. The winner of Tuesday's game advances to the region semifinals on Saturday, Oct. 30, at Cape Fear Community College.
