RALEIGH, NC – Two Wake Tech volleyball players earned NJCAA Region 10 All-East honors for the fall 2021 season. The complete team was announced Saturday on the final day of the regional tournament.
Ahunna Akpuda, a sophomore outside hitter, was named to the All-East division first team. Akpuda, from Raleigh (Rolesville), appeared in all 21 matches for Wake Tech. She was 12th overall in kills per set with 2.94 and led Wake Tech.
Arianna King, a freshman middle hitter, was named to the All-East division second team. King was first on the Wake Tech team with 18 block solos and .84 blocks a set. King, from Raleigh (Southeast), was 13th in the region in the solo blocks category.
Wake Tech wrapped up the 2021 season with a 16-5 record and advanced to the quarterfinals of the NJCAA Region 10 DII Tournament.
