The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) announced the 2019-20 NJCAA All-Academic Award honorees which featured 10 Wake Technical Community College student-athletes.
Wake Tech has canceled fall sports for the 2020-21 academic year. The decision comes after the college announced on Friday that in-person activities would be cancelled for fall semester due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the college’s commitment to protect the health and safety of our community.
Brian Anweiler, Athletic Director, would like to congratulate over 50 student-athletes who were recognized by the college for earning a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher during the spring semester.

The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association announced that Wake Tech women’s basketball coach Alison Beasley is a member of the 2020 Thirty Under 30 class. The WBCA Thirty Under 30 presented by Marriott Bonvoy and Morgan Stanley Global Sports & Entertainment honorees for the 2019-20 season.
Following the recent recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the NJCAA has made the difficult decision to cancel all upcoming basketball championships as well as spring competition, effective immediately.
Due to the seriousness of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) global pandemic, Wake Tech is transitioning all on-campus courses to an online format and suspending on-campus activities from March 15 to April 5. The transition period covers Spring Break (next week) and the two weeks following the break.
